Easter 2013

Hope everyone had a Happy Easter! 

The weather finally turned nice, so we go out for an Easter egg hunt yesterday called the Egg Drop. There were 3 helicopters, 100, 000 eggs and about 3,000 kids! There was a lot of waiting for about 2 minutes of egg collecting, but the helicopters were very cool to see. And Carson LOVED it! All the kids enjoyed it, but he LOVED it! And it made me so happy that we did something that he got the most enjoyment out of, because usually the tables are turned and he is dragged to everything.

On Easter morning, the kids woke up to find outdoor fun themed Easter Baskets. They got flip-flops, water guns, flower seeds, bubbles, chalk, hula-hoops, etc. We just don’t eat or need very much candy in our house, so the kids got very little this year.

The bunny also left a big puzzle for us to work on!

 We had my sister and her husband and 2 kids who were traveling through the area and Michael’s sister, husband and Sammy Reese for brunch. It was awesome to have all my kid’s cousins together! We had an Egg Hunt in our front yard, the kids played nicely together and we ate and drank hartily!

Easter Crafts

The past 2 days the kids have been in full Easter mode wanting to make crafts and prepare for Easter. This year we are hosting an Easter brunch for all of their Aunts and Uncles and cousins….this is a rare treat to have all of them together, so the kids are super excited.

The kids colored and cut out bunnies, then glued a cotton ball on the back for a tail. I got the pattern here.

We lined the bunnies up on the mantel.

We used some leftover paint samples and the kids traced and egg pattern and cut them out. Then they lined them up in the order of their choice and we strung them together with yarn.

The girls also made some foam creations with a friend during a playdate.

And we made some bunny pops to share with the cousins  tomorrow.
These were super easy for the kids to make. They are rice krispie treats dipped in melted white chocolate with chocolate chip eyes. For the ears we put a couple melting chocolate chips in a baggie, melted them in the microwave, cut a hole in the tip of the baggies and "drew" them on. Let them cool in the fridge and done!

Its Been a While…

Life has been busy.

We won a goldfish (which took a tragic turn to end his life by falling into the garbage disposal!) and a cake at the school Jamboree.

I spent some time making Dora invites for Meeka's upcoming birthday.

We didn't do to much to celebrate St. Patrick's Day, but I made a special dinner for the kids. Green Pancakes with rainbow sprinkles. and green milkshakes.

And then it all started…the sickness. We had 2 weeks of sickness. Melina was even so bad that we had her at children's. This has not been fun virus!! And of course this is 4 days before we leave for our trip t Las Vegas. What a rough week!! 

Bur we made it….and we had an AWESOME time!! We are ready to go back again or go away again, somewhere, anywhere.... We had so many laughs….pink velvet gorilla suits, backing up scooters, free t-shirts, a fantastic town car ride and getting drinks bought for us (by us I mean Astrid & not, not Michael and I) by other guys… oh so many good memories!

And now that we have been back the kids have been in Easter mode this week, so we have done many Easter Projects. My first project though (Ok, it wasn't my first, or even close to first) was getting down the Christmas lights before Easter! Classy, I know!
