Spa Birthday Party

As you all know by know Melina's birthday was this weekend. We celebrated on Friday night with a Spa Party. I let her invite all her friends without narrowing her list because it was Memorial Day weekend and I thought a lot of kids would not be able to come…no the case. So she celebrated with 17 of her friends. The kids were all great, but thank goodness I had my trusty sitters to help me out! I was defiantly FUN night and I had FUN planning the party too!

I made a sleep mask for her invite
When the guests arrived there was a  bin for their street shoes
and they each picked a pair of flip flops.

They decorated their flip-flops

While their mask was on, they put cucumbers on their eyes

And of course we finished up the night cake-

Dance Recital and More

This weekend was beyond busy! We had softball, soccer, dance, Cub Scouts and Girls Scouts. We even threw in a sleepover.

Dance Recital

The girls LOVE to dance so they were so excited for their recital!! We ended up at the rehearsal for hours and hours (because Melina had numbers at the beginning and the end of the show) before heading home for less than 2 hours before we had to head back for the actually show. We have enjoyed our year at dance and made some great friends, both the kids and myself, and we will miss it. Although, I think we are all ready for the break too!

Ready to go!
(Carson stayed home with a sitter)

Striking a pose.

This is the pose of choose for dancers apparently!

Meeka waiting to go on stage.
I was the backstage mom for her class, which is why I am back with her.

(I am sad I didn't get any of her in her tap costume)

After the recital the girls chose Asian Gourmet for their celebration dinner.
Both girls ate some sushi, Melina's favorite food is Spring Rolls and Meeka LOVED the Edamame.

Young Eagles Flying Lessons!

The same time as we were at the dance recital rehearsal, Logan was at the Greene County Airport, learning to fly a plane. He had a small flight school and then got to go up in a Stimson 4 seater plane. He flew with 1 other boy, so they flew to another airport and landed and then switched seats and flew back. He got to take the controls of the plane for a minute too! He loved every minute and thinks getting his pilot license is in his future….we'll see about that one!
All geared up and ready to go!

Girl Scout Celebration and Pinning Ceremony

On Sunday the Daisy's had their end of the year party at Build a Bear. They opened the store early for them and they got to choose and bear and an outfit. They had a blast! After that they went to a park and had some lunch and they had their pinning ceremony where they got their year 1 pin.

Saying the Girl Scout Promise.

There are a couple of other things I have been meaning to write about (including a great healthy and YUMMO recipe I made this week) but I feel like I am barely keeping up with life these days! Hopefully this week I'll get some thoughts down.

Daisy Scouts and Camporee

This was out biggest Girl Scout week of the year! The girls did their first "field trip" with a trip to the fire station. And then on Saturday was the Camporee; an all day event at Girl Scout Camp.

They took the ladder truck up as high as it would go!

Camporee

The Camporee Theme this year was Beach Party. The theme is voted on by all the troops in the council. And then each troop gets to choose which activities they want to do from a list of themed offerings. Our girls chose, Daisy Cooking (which we missed because we went to our 9am soccer game before heading straight to camp), Treasure Hunt, Mermaid Buddies and Creeking.
Melina making her Trail Mix at one of the stations on the treasure hunt.

The girls after they went across the big swinging bridge.

They got a stamp for their clue book at each stop.
They also got a piece of craft material.

Hiking along the hunt!

And the end of the treasure hunt they had a craft
to make with the supplies they collected.

They made a seashell wind chime.

Thank goodness I went shopping for new rain boots on Friday!!
Mud and Muck should have been the theme!

"I'm Dirty and I LOVE it!"

Making her Mermaid Buddy

The Daisy Troop

Creeking was her favorite activity!

She found lots of craw-daddy's and some other  creatures too!

But she can always stop and pose!

"Oh, I think I see something!"

She was not afraid to turn over rocks to find things!

A Girl Scout tradition at camp is swapping pins (who knew?- not me!).
Each troop makes a bunch of little pins and they all swap at camp.
We were all tired and dirty by the end of the day,
but it was so much fun!
