Fresh Picked Fruit and Vegetables!

blackberries
On Saturday we took the kids to Berryhill Farm for blueberry, blackberry and raspberry picking. It was the perfect morning for picking and all 4 kids really got into it this year filling their buckets with handpicked berries. They were all so proud of everything they picked that we ended up with $72 dollars worth of berries…good thing we like fruit!

Meeka and Carson did a great job picking!
They picked for a hour and half and never asked when we were going to be done!

The ripe ones just fall off into your hands.

The kids got the low ones and I got the high ones.

And I couldn't resist making a fresh blackberry cobbler for dessert
mmmmmm….delicious!

Fresh Summer Dinner

On Saturday afternoon I whipped up some pasta dough and the kids help roll it out. We made angel hair for the first time. It turned out pretty good, but I think I would cook it a minute less next time. I roasted some garlic and we picked eggplant and tomatoes from our garden and made an eggplant and tomato sauce with fresh mozzarella and basil. And made our family favorite Tomato, Basil, Mozzarella Stacks to go with dinner. There is nothing like fresh tomatoes in the summer! YUM!

Just thought the dinner table looked so colorful!
